Learn how to get everyone moving in the right direction during your time as VOYCE’s Grassroots Organizing and Policy Intern!

As a Grassroots Organizing and Policy Intern, you’ll develop a deep understanding of the issues surrounding VOYCE’s policy priorities and the systems involved and assist with the start-up of VOYCE’s new coalition, the Alliance for Quality Long-Term Care.

In this role, you’ll learn by doing as you :

  • Develop new documents, policies, and other coalition needs.
  • Attend coalition meetings and take meeting minutes.
  • Assist with policy research.
  • Manage the coalition’s shared drive and other documents.
  • Facilitate meetings with potential new coalition members and complete initial engagement surveys.
  • Participate in the statewide Advocacy Day at the capitol (March 2024)
  • Assist with communications and messaging about the coalition, including the monthly newsletter.
  • Participate in virtual and in-person outreach to community members, community partners, and stakeholders.
  • Attend virtual and in-person training/education opportunities as available.

About the position:

  • No experience required
  • Foundation or concentration practicum
  • Minimal travel required (Spring 2024 students: One required visit to Jefferson City in March)
  • Travel/mileage reimbursement included
  • Flexible hours with optional work-from-home days

  • Positions Available: One per semester
  • Semester Availability: Fall 2023, Spring 2024
