Volunteers are an essential part of any non-profit. VOYCE strives to provide comprehensive support, so our volunteers have the greatest chance of success. You will have the opportunity to learn about volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and retention, in addition to learning about volunteer program management and evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
You will learn by supporting the Volunteer and Regional Ombudsman Coordinator in the following ways:
- Contacting potential volunteers to discuss volunteer opportunities and schedule in-person interviews
- Maintain volunteer database
- Keep volunteer postings up-to-date on relevant volunteer boards
- Attend community events and volunteer fairs, representing VOYCE
- Create, administer, and analyze volunteer surveys
- Assist with volunteer appreciation efforts, including sending cards, hosting virtual meetings, hosting in-person meetings, sending newsletters, and other contacts
- Assist with providing and documenting continuing education for volunteers
- Assist with maintaining volunteer files to ensure compliance with state and regional policies
- Assist in submitting monthly reporting
- Assist with providing training for new volunteers
- Complete assessments for residents participating in the Friendly VOYCE program
- Evaluate volunteer programs to identify strengths and areas of improvement
- Assist with Project Holiday Cheer through tasks, such as contacting new partners, answering questions about the project, maintaining databases, and preparing cards to be delivered
- Work with Education Committee volunteers, providing assistance with topic and speaker sourcing and blog writing
- Additional duties as required

- Travel/mileage reimbursement included
- Flexible hours with optional work-from-home days
- All VOYCE practicum students are eligible to attend our community and professional development events for free while they are completing their practicum.
