Development Coordinator Position Summary              

The Development Coordinator is responsible for successfully producing VOYCE’s professional and community education series and Project Holiday Cheer drive, supporting the Director of Development and Community Engagement in the execution of sponsorship agreements, and accessing community resources to identify like-minded organizations to create new and maintain existing partnerships.

The Development Coordinator reports to the Director of Development and Community Engagement.

Outreach

  • Work with the Director of Development to execute 25-40 educational events annually and in person Long-Term Care Conference bi-annually
    • Meet with speakers to plan content, course descriptions, and learning objectives that fit within VOYCE’s mission of improving quality care for long-term care residents and aging adults.
    • Manage all aspects of obtaining several continuing education credits for professional participants.
    • Promotes events through multiple channels, including email, social media, and in-person
    • Conduct education evaluation surveys and track program outcomes
    • Edit audio and video of educational events and post to website and YouTube
  • Develop and distribute marketing materials for programs and organization
    • Prepare email and mail newsletters
    • Update the organization’s website, including coordinating blog content
    • Support social media and back-up key staff.
  • Coordinate Project Holiday Cheer– an effort to involve the community in sending 40,000 cards to nursing home residents
    • Track participation in Airtable
    • Work with sponsors, volunteers, and card leaders to attain goals
    • Ensure final delivery of cards

Fundraising

  • Work with the Director of Development to create positive experiences for organizational sponsors.
    • Research prospective sponsors and make connections to the organization
    • Ensure all promised sponsor benefits on time and with excellence
  • Ensure individual donors receive appropriate recognition
    • Maintain donor database
    • Create and send thank you letters
  • Work with the Director of Development and Executive Director to attain grant funding.
    • Assist in grant tracking and reporting
    • Assist in writing grants to propel the mission forward

Organization Operations

  • Provide administrative support through ordering, coding bills and deposits, and other duties as assigned.
  • Remain present in the community through networking events, coalition meetings, and one-on-one meetings with partners and volunteers.

Development Coordinator Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Engaging personality and comfort with initiating conversations and meeting new people to share the mission in groups and one-on-one meetings.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including comfort on the phone and public speaking.
  • Highly organized, able to implement systems, work under pressure effectively, and produce a quality work product within tight time constraints.
  • Personal life experience with long-term care or knowledge of the industry landscape.
  • Experience as a volunteer and donor for a nonprofit organization.
  • Knowledge of St. Louis philanthropic community and understanding of institutional racism’s effect on health outcomes across the lifespan.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in fundraising, volunteer management, event planning, or programming educational content.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google for Nonprofits, Zoom presentations, Adobe Creative Suite, Airtable, and Bloomerang database donor software or similar products.
  • Reliable transportation for travel is mainly throughout the St. Louis region and to Northeast Missouri periodically.

Compensation

  • Starting at $21-24/hour.
  • VOYCE pays 75% of health, dental, and vision, 100% of short-term disability insurance, and matches up to 3% of annual salary in a Simple IRA.
  • VOYCE pays for additional training, professional memberships, and meetings appropriate to the position.
  • Employees accrue up to 15 days per year in PTO in their first year of employment plus ten holidays.
  • Hourly, nonexempt position with 40 hours per week expected. Flexible scheduling is available. Occasional nights and weekends will be required for meetings and events. 

VOYCE is located in South St. Louis County.  VOYCE works on a hybrid in-person and virtual model.
