What is Project Holiday Cheer?
Project Holiday Cheer is a chance for people of all ages to brighten the holidays for residents in long-term care communities. Getting involved is as simple as creating, signing, or delivering holiday cards, and your kindness makes a lasting impact.
Starting this year, Project Holiday Cheer is a volunteer-led effort. VOYCE will no longer coordinate the collection and distribution of cards, but we encourage you to connect directly with nursing homes and care communities in your area to spread holiday joy.
Your thoughtfulness is a powerful way to give back, pay it forward, and share the spirit of the season. By reaching out locally, you’ll help ensure that no resident feels forgotten during the holidays.
How You Can Help
Getting involved in your own community is so easy! Just give a call to a nursing home near you and ask for the Activities Director. Here is an example script:
Hi [Director’s Name], I’m reaching out because I am delivering Christmas cards to nursing home residents. I’d love to include your community.
Could you tell me if you’re accepting cards this year, and if so, how many would be appropriate to prepare for your residents?
Would it be okay to drop them off in person or mail them?
