Program Information: While older lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) adults confront the same issues everyone else does when choosing aging services, the reality of life in long-term care for LGBT people can be drastically different from their non-LGBT peers. Join this session to learn about the concerns of LGBT elders, gain insight into the Long-term Care Equality Index (LEI), a benchmarking tool, and walk away with steps you can take to promote equitable and inclusive long-term residential care and services in your community.

Speaker Information: Dan Stewart is the Associate Director of the Aging Equality Project for the Human Rights Campaign Foundation and directs the Long-Term Care Equality Index (LEI). Dan received his BA in Psychology from Saint Louis University and an MS in Gerontology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Through his experience in the aging field as a professional, his work as a researcher, and his dedication to advocating on behalf of the LGBTQ community, Dan shares his expertise nationally.

CEU Information: 1.0 CEU pending for Missouri administrators, social workers, nurses, and lawyers.

If you are unable to attend at the scheduled time, a recording will be sent to you. In order to obtain CEUs, you must be in attendance live at the scheduled time.
