VOYCE volunteers, board and staff met with Senate President Pro Tem Ron Richard
7th Annual Advocacy Day for VOYCE
A VOYCE team of 31 advocates, including volunteer ombudsmen, board members and staff, joined ombudsmen from across the state on March 15, 2017 to advocate for quality long-term care. Displays from each ombudsman region in the state filled the third floor Capitol Rotunda, allowing legislators and their staff to meet with ombudsmen to find long-term care resources for their constituents.
Regional Ombudsman Coordinators from across the state.
VOYCE and representatives from other Missouri Ombudsman Programs held legislative meetings with legislators in their regions as well as with key leadership in the House and Senate to bring the concerns of long-term care residents to Jefferson City. State Legislators received a "Long-Term Care Constituency Guide" detailing the long-term care communities in their districts and the number of residents living at each location to show how many of their own constituents are being served with long-term care. View a detailed description of the bills affecting long-term care residents as well as more photographs from the day.
