2016 Changing Landscape of Long Term Care Conference
Thank you for joining us for the 2016 Changing Landscape of Long Term Care Conference on June 9-10, 2016 at the Renaissance St. Louis Airport Hotel. This two-day conference brought together almost 400 professional long-term caregivers with individuals and families from the community to learn dynamic strategies, innovative tools and available long-term care options. Participants visited with 47 sponsors who showcased long-term care services across Greater St. Louis. Morning Keynote Speaker
Lisa Thomson, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at Pathway Health Services, has over 25 years’ experience in the post-acute, long-term care setting, community based settings, disability population as well as other healthcare settings. Lisa has had extensive experience in leadership and oversight of daily operations of numerous health care organizations in the post-acute care continuum as well as community-based settings. Lisa discussed how you can strive and thrive amidst change including regulatory changes, Affordable Healthcare Act initiatives, new payment models, organizational data, new quality measures from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and a changing workforce.
Caregiver Runway: Dress for Success in a Person-Centered Setting
Scrubs and Beyond - Inspired by the Caregiver, showcased clothing modeled by St. Louis caregivers on how to create a home-like environment for long-term care residents.
Melissa Ramel, MPH, MS, RD, LD, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Saint Louis University, engaged in a thought-provoking presentation on how aging changes the way we see and taste food. These changes impact the ability of older adults to receive the nutrition they need to survive and thrive.
