Danny R. Williams, JD, MNO, LNHA is President & CEO of Eliza Bryant Village, a 124 year-old long-term care facility that provides skilled nursing, affordable independent housing, and adult day and home care services for some of Greater Cleveland’s poorest and most vulnerable elderly citizens. The Village, originally founded in 1896 as the Cleveland Home for Aged Colored People, is the oldest still operating African American-founded long-term care facility in the country. Eliza Bryant serves approximately 1200 individuals each year in furtherance of its mission to provide quality services, outreach programs, and a dignified, compassionate, and secure environment for seniors.
Danny assumed this position in January 2017, after serving for the previous 10 years as Executive Director of Circle Health Services (formerly, The Free Medical Clinic of Greater Cleveland), an Ohio nonprofit, that became a federally qualified health center in June 2012. At Eliza Bryant, he spearheaded the opening in December 2019 of an Elder Justice Center, which provides temporary respite and a variety of support services, free of charge, to older adults who have been subjected to abuse, trauma, or other criminal victimization. The Center is the only facility of its kind in Ohio.
Danny has spent his professional career serving the Greater Cleveland community as a practicing attorney, public official and nonprofit executive. He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Princeton, law degree from the University of Michigan, and master’s degree in nonprofit administration from Case Western Reserve University. He has also completed the Program for Senior Government Executives at the Kennedy School at Harvard, and the Program for Health Care Executives at the Anderson School of Management at UCLA. In January 2018, he passed state and national certifying exams resulting in his award of a Nursing Home Administrator’s license.
Following a successful legal career, Danny served as Cleveland’s Law Director in Mayor Michael R. White’s administration and later as Cuyahoga County Administrator, before assuming leadership positions in the nonprofit sector. He has been Executive Director of the local chapter of the American Cancer Society, CEO of the Greater Cleveland Roundtable, a social justice advocacy organization, and Sr. V.P and General Counsel of the Greater Cleveland Partnership, Cleveland’s chamber of commerce. Danny is a past president of the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics and has served on several local boards, including the Ohio Association of Community Health Centers, University Circle, Inc., Policy Bridge and the Council on Older Persons. Danny was recently appointed to the inaugural Community Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Case Western Reserve University, where he teaches a graduate-level course in Nonprofit Ethics and Professionalism.
Danny and his wife, Lin, reside in Cleveland Heights, OH. They have a daughter who is a former sergeant in the U.S. Army and a son who is an NFL scout for the Chicago Bears.
