Thirteen years ago, by day, Ryan Whittington was learning the duties as director of marketing for his new employer, Seniors Home Care (SHC), in Webster Groves, Mo. Meanwhile, on weeknights and weekends, while earning national certification as a certified dementia practitioner, he was discovering what it was like to serve in the trenches as an SHC caregiver.
Whittington learned well. Three years later, in 2011, he was promoted to director of operations. In 2012, he became co-owner and, in 2018, became CEO. During his tenure, SHC has more than tripled annual revenues, earning mention on the 2012, 2013 and 2014 Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies plus inclusion on the 2012 and 2013 St. Louis Business Journal’s list of the 25 fastest-growing companies. SHC also earned a TORCH Award for exceptionally ethical business practices from the Better Business Bureau of Eastern Missouri/southern Illinois. This year Seniors Home Care was recognized as a Leader In Excellence by Home Care Pulse, a nationally recognized survey company.
As CEO at Seniors Home Care, Whittington leads a team that manages the performance of 150 screened, bonded, and insured in-home caregivers employed by Seniors Home Care, a leading in-home care provider in St. Louis with more than 120 clients area-wide.
In the community, Whittington –is a board member at the St. Louis Society for the Blind and Visually Impaired; VOYCE; the Clayton/Ladue Rotary Club and a member of the Webster Groves Lions Club; the Missouri Alliance for Home Care, the Webster Groves Senior Roundtable and on committees at St. Gerard Majella parish.
