Advocating for 20 Years and Counting
VOYCE has a saying that "ombudsman volunteers are the heart of our organization" as they advocate for quality living across the continuum of long-term care. They bring this mission to life, and Ed has been at the core of this for 20 years.
A Household Name with His Wealth of Knowledge
Volunteering as a dedicated ombudsman, Ed has been a friend, problem solver and neighbor to the residents in long-term care. In this role, Ed has not only assisted many residents in fulfilling their needs, but also assisted many families who have loved ones living in long-term care settings. As an advocate for all, Ed has been a positive influence in the community— becoming a household name with his wealth of knowledge about resident rights both in the long-term care community and at VOYCE.
Invested in the Needs of Residents
Ed has invested himself in completely understanding the needs of residents by genuinely getting to know them. In many instances, he has played a key role in resolving resident needs and finding an amicable ground between a resident and the management of the long-term care community.
He inspires many of his peer ombudsman volunteers in the St. Louis area and exemplifies the message that senior care is essential and important. With Ed leading the way in showing how to empower the long-term care community, he has added much to building the strength of VOYCE during his 20 years of service. VOYCE owes much of its success to Ed and many others like him who dedicate their time, thoughts and energy as an ombudsman volunteer.
